
TIPS TENNIS TRAINING
Training Sheet – Mini-Tennis (60 minutes)
Theme: Coordination and Control through Partner Rally
Age Group: 5–8 years
Level: Beginner
Duration: 60 minutes
1. General Warm-Up – 10 min
Objective: Activate the body, overall mobility
- Light jogging with changes of direction – 3 min
- “Follow the Leader” game – 2 min
- Joint mobility exercises – 3 min
- Coordination: side steps, jumps – 2 min
2. Motor Skills Games – 10 min
Objective: Control, balance, spatial awareness
- Hitting a balloon with the palm – 2 min
- Transporting a ball with the racket through cones – 3 min
- Balance on one leg while touching the ball – 2 min
- Mini combined motor circuit – 3 min
3. Main Technical Exercise – Partner Rally – 10 min
Setup: Children face each other with a 1 m circle between them
Stage 1:
- 4 sets x 5 hits with an open grip
- Bottom-up strokes, knees bent, follow the ball
Stage 2:
- 4 sets x 5 hits with the racket reversed (palm down)
- Control laterally and in front of the body
4. Active Break – 5 min
Activity:
- Hydration
- “Flawless Chain” game: who can make the most consecutive hits within the circle
5. Applied Game – 15 min
Mini-matches over a low band
- Hitting in a marked area
- Challenge: 3 consecutive rallies = 1 point
- Roles switch after each point
6. Relaxation and Feedback – 10 min
- Slow strokes with soft balls
- Guided stretching: shoulders, back, calves
- Discussion with children: “What did you enjoy most today?”
- Applause and encouragement at the end
Main Objectives:

✔ Communication with partner
✔ Self-confidence
✔ Learning through play
Coach’s Tips:
Adapt the pace of exercises to each child’s level. Provide clear and positive feedback. Frame each section with enthusiasm!
