EVA IANCU: THE JOURNEY OF A YOUNG CHAMPION

Eva Iancu, a rising tennis player, embodies discipline, ambition, and continuous growth. At just 13 years old, she represents Sportul Studențesc and approaches her athletic journey with a level of maturity and determination rarely seen at her age.

Born and raised in Bucharest, Eva discovered tennis at 6 years old, and just one year later she began training every day. Since then, tennis has become the center of her world. Although she is the only tennis player in her family, her love for sports runs deep — her father played football, and determination seems to be a family trait.

Eva trains under the guidance of her tennis coach Ionuț Jianu, complemented by physical conditioning sessions with Papu Marius. Her weekly schedule is intense: 6 tennis practices and 4 physical training sessions — a rhythm that only truly dedicated athletes can keep.

What defines Eva the most is her relentless desire to improve. She knows that every detail of her game can be refined through hard work, discipline, and ambition. This mindset has helped her achieve remarkable results: a best TE ranking of 313 and the No. 1 national ranking. She has won multiple Tennis Europe tournaments and has competed in countries such as Romania, Bulgaria, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Turkey, North Macedonia, and Serbia.

For now, her sponsors are her parents — a testament to the sacrifices and unwavering support of her family. Eva’s goal for 2026 is to continue improving her on-court game and mental strength, fully aware that in tennis, mental toughness often makes the difference at the highest level.

Her dream? To become a professional tennis player.
Her role model? Roger Federer, the symbol of elegance and perfection in this sport.

Off the court, Eva loves reading and taking nature trips with her dog — two activities that help her maintain balance and peace of mind.

Eva finishes with an inspiring message:
“I would like to dedicate this interview to all young tennis players like me—never give up on your dreams!”
